Police Nabs 4 Pharmacists Operating On Fake Degrees

Mumbai, 25 Jan 2019: The Maharashtra police has arrested four pharmacists who were operating on a fake D.Pharm. degree. They had allegedly procured fake certificates from a college in Delhi.

The state police officials have written a letter to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), seeking stern action against these racketeers.

Just last week, the police arrested four pharmacists for allegedly operating on a fake D. Pharma. degree.

The deputy commissioner crime (DCP) Deepak Devraj said, “Acting on a tip-off, we sent out a team to Delhi for an inquiry and found that we were on the right track. There is a huge racket flourishing on fake degrees.”

DCP Devraj further said, “We have sent out two to three teams to Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh for further investigation. We have also written a letter to the FDA Maharashtra, requesting them to take strict action against those operating on fake degrees.”

The investigation revealed that the accused had managed to procure the degrees from a college in Delhi.

The police is also probing other degrees submitted by pharmacists with the Maharashtra Pharmacy Council, which has welcomed the crackdown. The Asian Age
